John Hansard Gallery – one of the UK's leading contemporary art galleries that is part of the University of Southampton and an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation – is seeking to recruit a Head of Audience Development who will be a key member of the Senior Management Team.
The successful candidate for this new role will lead the Communications team and work with a range of partners and collaborators to successfully develop the Gallery's profile and grow audiences. The Head of Audience Development will provide strategic leadership and oversee the development and implementation of effective audience development plans, communications strategies, and marketing campaigns. Extensive previous experience working in a comparative role in a gallery, museum, or cultural organisation is essential.
John Hansard Gallery's vision is for a curious, connected, and inclusive world, inspired by art. As part of the University of Southampton, we believe equality and diversity are fundamental to making the Gallery a vibrant, proud and successful organisation. We not only want to be a fair employer, we want to create a creative and caring environment for our staff to work in. We therefore particularly welcome applications from underrepresented groups and communities, including people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, disabled people, and LGBTQIA+ people. We are a Disability Confident employer.
Shortlisting will commence soon after the closing date with interviews being scheduled for week commencing 1 July 2024.
