Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Chinese Studies within UCD Irish Institute for Chinese Studies (IICS).
The Irish Institute for Chinese Studies (IICS) at UCD was officially launched in 2006.
The IICS contributes to the University's strategic objectives by promoting its international profile in the areas of Chinese studies and research. It has developed a range of courses and degree programmes designed to offer students a better knowledge and understanding of China. The programmes are offered in UCD for the benefit not only of students at UCD, but also the wider community.
The IICS aims to work with the Irish government, business and academia to develop stronger educational, cultural and commercial links between Ireland and China. The IICS has successfully completed several research projects which aim to promote the Irish-Chinese academic, economic, socio-cultural connections include "Doing Business in China: The Irish Experience", "Doing Business with China: The Irish Advantage and Challenge", Teaching packs for Transition Year students, Short Course Chinese, etc.
Staff members of the IICS have a range of academic interests including Chinese economy and business, Chinese language and literature, Chinese culture and society, and social anthropology
Lecturer / Assistant Professor (Above the Bar) Salary Scale: €61,617 - €97,572 per annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
