Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Technical Officer - Digital Manufacturing within UCD School Mechanical & Materials Engineering.
The teaching, research and innovation activities within the UCD School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering involve a continually changing and a wide variety of customised equipment, components and experimental systems. In recent years, the School has established and invested significantly in the area of robotics and automation to support its expanding undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes and its funded research activities. Some of the equipment includes a Kuka mobile robotic platform, Kuka industrial robot, Universal Robots cobot, Hanwha cobot, Festo Didactic Modular Production System. The School is actively involved in the broader industrial digital transformation agenda, where it leads the Digital Manufacturing theme of the Advance Centre Professional Education for Digital Transformation, an initiative funded by the Higher Education Authority under its Human Capital Initiative Pillar 3.
The post of Technical Officer will be based in the Robotics, Automation and Manufacturing Simulation laboratories and will work (in consultation) with staff, postgraduate and undergraduate students in these laboratories and in various other associated support activities, as required.
95 Technical Officer\2013 (7915) Salary Scale: €44,845 - €58,933 Per Annum
Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
