Associate Professor / Professor
Department of Cultural Studies
(Post Ref.: 24/213)
Founded in 1999, the Department (https://www.ln.edu.hk/cultural/) is the forerunner of offering a BA degree in Cultural Studies in Hong Kong. Our Master of Cultural Studies Programme, launched in 2003, gives students from mixed academic and working backgrounds the opportunity to reflect on and devise alternative ways to approach their ongoing practices. Our Research Postgraduate Programmes (MPhil & PhD) train aspiring researchers to develop in-depth inquiry into specific areas of interest. The programmes are designed to nurture global citizens with interdisciplinary, avant-garde, critical, and reflexive knowledge in the digital age.
We promote interdisciplinary research that foregrounds new ideas and drives societal changes. Our faculty members come from different areas of expertise, focusing on topics such as commons, youth cultures, gender & sexualities, migration & ethnicities, digital and popular cultures, class & labour, arts & literature, food & environment, and creative and social innovation sectors. Connecting cultural theories with civic engagement is the core of our values.
