Position Overview:
The School of Architecture, Planning, and Design (SAP+D) at UM6P is seeking a dynamic and innovative Postdoctoral Researcher to lead research in the evaluation of territorial systems using spatial technologies and alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The successful candidate will focus on developing and applying advanced spatial analysis tools and methodologies to assess and optimize territorial planning and management in the context of global sustainability standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Research and Development:
Conduct cutting-edge research that utilizes GIS, remote sensing, and other spatial technologies to evaluate territorial systems.

Develop innovative approaches to integrate SDG metrics into spatial analysis to assess and enhance the sustainability of territorial developments.

Analyze spatial data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform sustainable territorial planning.

Collaboration:
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of planners, environmental scientists, geographers, and technologists.
Work with international organizations, local governments, and non-governmental organizations to align territorial planning with SDG targets.

Engage with technology developers to advance tools and platforms for SDG-focused territorial analysis.

Publication and Dissemination:
Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present research at international conferences focusing on geography, sustainability, and technology.

Enhance the visibility of SAP+D's research capabilities in spatial technologies and sustainable development through scholarly and public engagement.

Develop policy recommendations based on research findings to improve sustainability practices in territorial planning.

Engagement and Education:
Create and disseminate engaging content that promotes understanding of SDG-aligned territorial planning.

Organize and lead workshops and seminars to educate stakeholders, including government officials and community leaders, on using spatial technology for sustainable development.

Mentor graduate students and contribute to academic courses in GIS, remote sensing, and sustainability.

Project Management:
Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to meet research objectives and deadlines.

Write grant proposals to secure funding for ongoing and future research projects.

Supervise the operation and updating of technological equipment and software in the spatial analysis lab.

Qualifications:
PhD in Geography, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or a related field with a strong emphasis on spatial technologies and sustainable development.

Demonstrated experience in using GIS and remote sensing for environmental or territorial analysis.
Proven track record of relevant research publications and presentations.

Strong computational skills, including proficiency in spatial analysis software and programming languages relevant to data analysis.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French, capable of conveying complex information effectively to a diverse audience.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary and multicultural environment.
